Thank you to those who turned up for last week's fitting session. If you missed it last week, we have another fitting session this weekend. We're also putting out a call for volunteer coaches for 2015. All details below.

Registrations Are Open

Online registrations are available for the 2015 season by clicking here.  The sooner you register and pay, the sooner you and/or your child can look great in a 2015 Sharks jumper!

New Playing Kit

We are very excited about the new kit, which is now available for fitting sessions for those members that have registered and paid.  When ordering the kit, please bear in mind it is designed for 2 years’ play, and it is your responsibility to make sure that the size, number and nickname are recorded correctly by our committee.  Our next sessions are:

1.    Saturday 17 January from 4-630pm at 39a Gentle Rd (postcode 309207) hosted by Mark and Lucy Berridge, and Sunday 18 January 8-845am at AIS poolside (look for Mark and a box of sharks jumpers);
2.    At the Great Australia Day BBQ celebrations on Sunday 25 January from 2pm to 6pm at AIS hosted by ANZA/AIS.  Visit the ANZA website for more information.

A reminder the key features of the 2015/6 kit are:

-       Exciting new design;
-       Player names on the jumpers.  Parents (on behalf of their children) may choose a name or a "nick" name; and
-       The player or parent can also choose their own number.
Our supplier will do batch shipments based on orders with an expected 2 week lead time.  We plan on submitting an order in each of the following 4 weeks, subject to the level of demand from members.  If you make the effort to attend a fitting session this or next weekend your kit should be available for our exciting season start on 31 January.

Volunteer Coaches

Welcome to the 2015 season! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year with their families and are back into the swing of things.

The success of our program over the past few years has an enormous amount to do with the number and quality of our coaches. We had the enviable ratio of 1 coach:6-8kids,  the kids get to touch the football hundreds of times in the skill rotations and develop quickly.

I am putting a call out for volunteers for the coming season. The commitment is for one hour a week in your child’s group. The sessions are based around skill rotations and games sense games, information about drills and games are distributed prior to sessions so if you are new to Aussie Rules that does not stop you from helping out. If you are able to volunteer, you can email me direct at dale_carmody@ais.com.sg or fill in the volunteer sheet that will be available at our registration day and first session. If you are interested in joining after the season begins, come and let yourself be known and we will get you involved. Ian Forbes co-ordinates our U/5 and U/6 groups, I will pass on coach information to him if you are interested in helping out in the gym ( which is air conditioned! )

We also have Neil Barras ( AFL Coaching Mentor ) returning to run a refresher course on Saturday, February 7th at 10am. This is open to all interested coaches and will be focused on the game sense activities that we will be running this year. If you are interested please email the sharks and we will distribute venue and further information as the dates gets closer.

Your help in coaching would be greatly appreciated! Looking forward to another great year of Aussie Rules with our kids.
