The Singapore Sharks Football Club have had another great year in 2017 and I am privileged to be taking over from Tony Davies as President. Tony has made an immeasurable contribution as President over the past 5 years and left a terrific legacy. I am delighted that he will continue to play a role on the Sharks Committee. I would also like to express the gratitude of the club and the Sharks community to Dennis Cornwall, Josephine Ong, Damian Davies, Vaughn English, Remon Gazal and Victoria Pollock who have all given up their time over the years to make the Sharks Club what it is today. A club and community simply does not function without the efforts of such people. Thank you. To those remaining on the Committee, many thanks for your efforts. We have a number of new Committee members and we are well on track with plans for a brilliant 2018 season.
To all of our players and parents, thanks for being part of the Sharks and please look forward to a big season ahead. It is not far away!
2017 - A very positive and eventful year
•    15 rounds of Sharks Coaching followed by a 6 round competitive Lightning Rounds competition. A very big thank you to Head Coach Scott Murphy and James Stephenson for all of their efforts – great job! I am pleased to announce that Scott Murphy will continue in this role in 2018 with Brad Winters stepping into Stevo’s role with our younger Sharks. There were a number of issues to deal with in terms of ground availability but Murph took all in his stride and ultimately all worked out well. A special note of appreciation also to Shannen Murphy for her hard work and support.

•    We had tours to Hong Kong and also to Shanghai with a team playing at half-time of the Port Adelaide v Gold Coasts match.

•    Our Sharks ‘Dad’s’ team again made the journey to Bali for the Masters tournament and performed well despite opposition sides boasting some former AFL legends

•    Nicola Barr from the GWS (AFLW) paid us a visit and was a huge hit with all of our players and parents.

•    2017 represented our 10 year anniversary as a club and this milestone was well celebrated at a gala event with the very entertaining Sam Kekovich as guest speaker.

•    Friday night footy continued to gain momentum with our players and also parents and friends who seemed to enjoy the atmosphere and refreshments provided by the club.

•    The Sharks could not do all of the things we do without the support of our sponsors. Thank you very much to Visy, Dallas Bar and Grill, Cliftons, Caterpillar, Sliding Doors Entertainment, Telstra, JLL, Michael Page, AFL Asia and of course the Australian International School.
2018 - The Season ahead and Registration

We would ideally like as many people to register online as possible here.  Please note that registration fees are unchanged from 2017 with details on the website.

You can also register at the Sharks Tent at the Great Aussie BBQ which will be held at AIS on Sunday 28 January.

•    The Sharks season will begin on Saturday 3rd February and will conclude on Saturday 19th May. We will have a week off over Chinese New Year and also over the Easter period (31st March and 7th April)

•    Lightning Rounds (competitive tournament) for U/9, U/11, U/13 will commence on Saturday May 26th with finals and season concluding on Friday August 17th. There will be a break over the summer holidays (June 23rd – July 21)

•    Friday night footy will be back bigger and better with 5 sessions scheduled – a more detailed calendar is on the website.

•    We are finalising details for other events and activities including a coaching clinic for our coaches, potential tours and other countries touring Singapore, a gala event for the parents, player visits etc. When confirmed, details will be available on the website, Facebook and Teamsnap.
In 2017 we saw amazing levels of improvement from our players and most importantly a growing group of boys and girls (and Dads) having a great time enjoying playing the best game in the world. The Sharks is a unique club that seems to get better each year and will do again in 2018.
On behalf of the Committee and the Club, all the very best for a wonderful festive season and a safe and successful new year.
