A sensational day on Saturday marked the start of competitive footy for our older kids with a good turn-out for the pre-season hit out, before the real action begins next week.  The long break must have re-energised the kids because the first quarter of action saw around 10 goals kicked in 10 minutes!  It was a solid game with many strong performances, and a great day had by all.  Thanks to the coaches, umpires and Dads, who all got involved and helped make it a successful day.

Next week we will commence the Lightning Round Robin tournament.  Kids will be put in evenly matched teams, to form the Mako Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks and the Tiger Sharks.  Led by experienced coaches Matthew Jackson, Damian Davies and Matt Talbot and the safe hands of umpire David Snow, they will play 2 games each week, across 5 weekends of footy.  We will play on the long weekend of Aug 8, so if you’re around, please plan to play that day.  After the 5 rounds, we will have Finals Day on August 29, which will be the culmination of a season’s hard work and we expect some exceptional skills and talent to be on display on this big day!

We still have around 10 spots available for players who wish to participate.  Please register here before this weekend to ensure your child is placed in a team.  A reminder that to ensure we provide a safe environment, we can only take kids born in 2004 and earlier.

We look forward to a great season of footy and providing you weekly updates of the competition!
