A very big welcome to all our new members joining the Singapore Sharks Footy Club (SSFC) and welcome back to our returning members. 2016 is shaping to be a very positive year for footy in Singapore with high numbers already from both the online registration and the registration day at AIS on January 31. We also have some really exciting special events for 2016 – starting this Saturday with week 1. Some fresh changes to our coaching line up - Mr Scott Murphy joins as head coach, Mr James Stephenson joins as assistant coach, leading the young’uns in the gym and Josephine Ong continuing in administration, 2016 is started well organised. Hopefully we will be there at the end of the season!

2016 also sees the club have strong support from our corporate community with Visy, Telstra, CAT, Dallas Restaurant and Bar, NAB and AIS all return as sponsors and you can see their logos on this email’s header as well as the uniforms each week. They are very generous supporters and, alongside our many in-kind supporters through the year, are crucial to keeping the Sharks AFL the best value for money club in Singapore by far. Those new members who have registered and ordered their new playing strip – this will be available for pick up on Saturday.

Dates to watch out for early – Friday March 18 is the AGM and New Members Night and Saturday April 23 is the annual Trivia and Social Night. Tables for the Trivia Night are especially in demand so table captains, please register early.

To our parents (and grandparents who visit), we are very proud of the community we have created at the club and we welcome new members with open arms, so please don't be shy in introducing yourself to the coaches, committee or other parents you see around. Lastly, the club is run completely by volunteers and we welcome any assistance you can give whether it coaching, helping with the BBQ or setting the ground up, there's always something to be done. All help is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to share your thoughts and views.
