In 2014 we have the opportunity to have our volunteers fully accredited as Level 1 Auskick coaches. Below is the outline of the program and steps required to gain accreditation.

1.     Register with Dale Carmody at dale_carmody@ais.com.sg
2.     Complete the AFL online junior coaching course to be found here.
3.     Attend 2 practical sessions with Neil Barras, coaching mentor  from the AFL, which will cover the following;

Saturday 8th February

10.00-11.00- Introduction to the Course, Course Requirements, Role of the Coach,  Coach as a Role Model.

11.00-12.00-Teaching Formations and Group Management

12.00-2.00 - Practical Coaching, Peer Group Coaching

AUSKICK with Coach Assessment in the group that you will be volunteering in


Saturday 15th February

10.00-11.00 - Characteristics of Children. Catering for Individual Differences

11.00-12.00 - Structure of a Practice Session

12.00-2.00 - Practical Coaching. Peer Group Coaching

AUSKICK with Coach Assessment in the group that you will be volunteering in


Lunch and drinks will be provided by the club during the sessions on February 8th and 15th. These will be conducted in an AIS classroom to be confirmed.

Coach assessment will be completed by Neil Barras, Dale Carmody, Ian Forbes, Haydn Flanagan and Ben Hart

Completion of the course will give participants Level 1 Accreditation that can be used anywhere. Not only is this a fantastic opportunity for our club, it is a great chance for our volunteers to develop their skills and provide our kids with higher quality coaching.
